The villa was beautiful, it was in great area, great views and amenities. The swimming pool was very much appreciated during the heat wave we experienced in July. Although the air conditioning could not keep up, especially in the tower bedroom. The staff needs to know how to operate air conditioning. We had to call someone in to figure out the tower room.
Maria was great. Very sweet and helpful. By the way, we thought we were getting a continental breakfast every morning. Maria actually made eggs and bacon for anyone that wanted it everyday. She was very accommodating, did laundry when ever we wanted, went to the grocery store for us, changed the evening she was cooking dinner. Her English is spotty though. But we managed.
We also loved the estate's wine and the pet turtles. The views, vineyards and drives were breath taking. The kids loved the nearby Ridding Club. And we all liked the town of Certaldo old section and of course San Gimigiano.
We enjoyed our stay but the only things that need improvement, would be the airconditioning was not cold enough and the wi fi kept going in and out, otherwise it was perfect. We also were a little disappointed in the English speaking cooking class. Since Maria, our housekeeper and cook does not speak English we hired the chef recommended by the owner. It was good but a little too technical and basic for us. We all know how to cook and were looking for something a little less teachy. But the food was delicious and we had fun.
