Patrice: I did want again to thank you for all of your help. The villa was delightful as was Signora Mena. We enjoyed the house and although it had a couple drawbacks - noise primarily from the street and buses/trucks - you get used to the noise and it is Italy after all. The owner and her daughters are delightful. The house is awesome.
The pool was fine ? I was a little skeptical since it is above ground but it worked out and kids liked it. It would not be for everyone and not as nice as the pool in the Tuscany villa we rented last time.
The trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum was very good and the guide was excellent. It was blisteringly hot so that was a little bit of a limiting factor. I would stay away from Naples Old Town ? it is sort of a pit in my estimation and we did not enjoy that.

The villa was amazing! Thank you for suggesting it to us, it was perfect. We were welcomed with open arms, and felt so comfortable during our entire stay. It was so clean and updated, great villa staff and owners, and the villa cook was a wonderful suggestion, we loved returning home from a long day of touring to a home cooked meal. It gave us time to enjoy the villa too! The kids would jump in the pool and we had time for a quick shower and glass of wine before dinner. We will definitely come back to Villa Marcella! Your tour suggestions were fantastic! We enjoyed the full day trip to Naples and Herculaneum and Pompeii, the kids really liked learning about how Buffalo mozzarella was made, and are still talking about the cows! Our tour guides were so personable, and our driver entertained the teenage girls. Did you pick a handsome driver just for them? It surely kept them interested all day! Thank you for one of the best trips we've ever taken. We can't wait for a return visit to the Amalfi Coast.
