It is with enormous enthusiasm and glorious memories that we write to you about our stay at Il Mugnello. The villa is exquisitely appointed, every room styled with such flair that it took us nearly an hour to choose which one we wanted?and while we did have our grown kids draw straws to pick their rooms, everyone was thrilled?because all the rooms are so special. The living areas are beyond charming, with the preserved brick, wavy ceiling, and the whitewashed floors, comfy couches and inviting African décor. And the gardens! And the pool! There could not possibly be a pool in the world more perfectly situated?that view! With the wildflowers all around, the buzzing bees in the lavender and the roses over the trellis. It is a photographer?s paradise.
As for the chef, oh my! What glorious food! (You can take this off the review, but please help me get the recipe for her eggplant parm! I must must have it! She said she would send to me but perhaps forgot). Every dish was sublime.
Last, but not least, Monica. She was the warmest, kindest, most attentive person to have in the house every day. We all loved her.
Thank you for your dinner suggestions in the area as well, the pizza spot in Radicondoli was fantastic!
We would highly recommend Il Mugnello to any family or group of friends visiting Tuscany. And we will be jealous that they have it still to look forward to!
