Tucked under the ancient Etruscan walls of Cortona, the newly restored Jade House commands a bird's eye view of the surrounding Cortona countryside. You will understand just why Francis Mayes fell in love with this province. The house is part of a beautiful... let's say magnificent... Renaissance estate of three other villas separated by private gardens. The Jade House is on the top of the hill, with wonderful views, yet hidden by the majestic trees and hill tops that surround it. You will enjoy beautiful views of the Valdichiana and the owner's own olive groves that produce some of the best olive oil in Italy.
In the garden below is a beautifully restored lemon house where one can often listen to chamber music concerts organized in the hot summer evenings by the owners.
Each room of this house is unique and different from the other in terms of shape, color and ambience. All have been furnished with the elegance and style of the wonderful owner.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Jade House is built on three floors.

GROUND FLOOR
The front door opens to a large foyer with an antique fireplace and double staircase to the the first floor. Walk in to the dining room and a few steps up to the fully equipped kitchen leading to the spacious terrace overlooking the countryside.

FIRST FLOOR
Enter the first floor from the interior double staircase or the exterior staircase that leads to the spacious terrace with lovely views of the pool and mountaintops. Here is a living room with a fireplace, a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and air conditioning and a twin/double bedroom (this bedroom must share the hall bathroom on the second floor).

SECOND FLOOR
A twin/double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a double bedroom and a hall bathroom with shower. Both of these bedrooms are air conditioned.

GARDENS/GROUNDS
The laundry room is located in a small building next to the house. There are two large terraces surrounding the house. The first one is on the ground level as you reach the foyer and dining room and the second one is reached by a stone staircase that takes you to the first floor living area. Left of the upper terrace is a walkway to the swimming pool. Beyond the swimming pool is the old Etruscan path that will take you to the town of Cortona, a 45 minute walk.
