High on a hilltop in the picturesque area of Val d'Orcia, Pascolo has 360 degree views of the unblemished countryside that everyone dreams of when they think of Tuscany. Not far from the famous and quaint town of Pienza, Pascolo is an old rustic farmhouse that has been lovingly restored mixing the old style Tuscan with a fresh contemporary interior design. Pascolo sits within the Lucciola Bella Nature Reserve with sweeping views of the Val D'Orcia UNESCO heritage park and the hilltop towns of Montalcino, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico D'Orcia and Radicofani. The result is a breathtaking landscape that has the beauty of a great painting. This area is also rich culturally and historically, with small, walled villages still beautifully preserved, frescoed monasteries, and imposing medieval fortresses guarding the hilltops. Less than 20 minutes away, Tuscany's twin wine capitals of Montepulciano and Montalcino produce Nobile and Brunello, some of Italy's top wines, in vineyards on their sloping hillsides. Visiting small producers nearby offers the chance to sample spectacular--and difficult to find—wines in beautiful settings.
What makes Pascolo truly unique is how famous interior designers from London and Florence collaborated to set aside the "rustic" aesthetic of the typical dark woods, heavy fabrics, and small windows that are found in traditional Tuscan houses, to create a luxury retreat with a fresh contemporary design. Although all the materials are traditional and local, and the original external features of the old farmhouse have been maintained, the open common spaces and spacious light-filled guest rooms are totally modern.
The luxury design of the house has extended outside as well. The large infinity swimming pool and Jacuzzi hot tub have the magnificent views that you will long remember once you return home. A large, covered rain-proof dining pergola for outdoor dining and relaxing sits alongside the pool. The Pergola has wood decking floor, a bar with a sink and a refrigerator that is kept stocked by the staff with wine, soft drinks, water and beer. A long wood table that seat up to 20 people will ensure a comfortable and relaxing time while you enjoy the magnificent views. For your comfort, the pool area also has a card table with games to while away the hours, yoga mats and blankets (you can make arrangements for personal yoga instructions), an I-Pod dock, and two soft upholstered sofas. No need to worry how you will dry off, pool towels are included and replaced by the staff each day.
In Pascolo you'll find cream-colored stone floors, brand new queen size mattresses with luxury white linens from Bussati, massive showers with Santa Maria Novella and Hotel Sirenuse , skin care products, and in several rooms stand alone bathtubs with views over the valley.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Pascolo sits on four acres atop of a hill, literally surrounded by rolling sheep pastures and grain fields. A stay at Pascolo offers you complete privacy, surrounded by peace and quiet. Your only neighbors are flocks of sheep on the adjoining hilltops, and if your al fresco dining takes you long into the evening, there are no worries, as there are no noise restrictions at Pascolo.
Pascolo is made up of the main house and cottage and is reached by a long gravel road (about 4 kms). Once you pass the large expanses of gardens and covered terraces you reach the front door where you enter into the spacious living and dining room with open kitchen. The kitchen boasts all professional appliances and comes staffed with your own private chef who will be happy to whip up anything you desire. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are just a simple 24 hour request away. This open concept leads to a very informal yet elegant and relaxing atmosphere where you will feel right at home the moment you open the door.
Past the kitchen and down the hallway are three bedrooms. All of the bedrooms throughout the house have queen sized beds, self controlled air conditioning/heating, en suite bathrooms with large showers, (most with rain showers), and pull down screens that preserve the fantastic views when you don't need the screens.
