High on a hill on the Sorrento peninsula overlooking the bay of Naples and the island of Capri, this charming villa is on the outskirts of a small village just 1 ½ miles south of Massa Lubrense and 2½ miles from the beach. A typical 18th century southern villa with large spacious rooms decorated in southern Italian style and filled with warm southern Italian hospitality. Unlike the Amalfi coast, which is just 10 miles from the villa, you can park right in front of your villa without any steps to reach the front door.
The villa dates back to the 17th century and was once the home of one of the Kings of Naples making it one of Italy's national monuments. The architectural structure and many of the antiques from that period have remained here.
Massa Lubrense is under 2 miles from the villa, Sorrento under 3 miles, and the nearest beack, Marina del Cantone is 3 miles. , Sorrento 10, Marina del Cantone is the nearest beach and is located only 5 km away. Major sightseeing towns are only a few miles away, such as Positano 11, Amalfi 25, Pompeii 21.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Drive directly from the road through the large iron gates. Walk across the stone parking lot and enter the antique door and into the welcoming foyer furnished with chairs, side tables and a long bench. On your left is the double living room, with white sofas and a grand piano. The whitewashed arched ceilings and intricate patterned tile flooring are so typical of these coastal homes. From the spacious living room, two doors lead out to a covered loggia with café style chairs and tables that look out to the sea where the island of Capri is clearly visible. On the other side of the living room is a large triple bedroom with a queen size bed and a single twin bed. A set of seven steps takes you to the large and spacious en suite bathroom.
Back in the hallway, you can walk straight to the back of the house to exit the garden, or take the staircase up to the next landing.

FIRST FLOOR
The top of the landing is very large and airy having two antique wooden benches. To the right are two additional large spacious rooms, all connected through doorways that act as hallways and seating areas, all furnished with tables and benches and chairs. Another living room/ dining area is located in the front of the house with large arched frescoed ceilings, small tables for four and benches for relaxing. The kitchen is completely tiled in a blue and white tile native of this area. There are three bedrooms on this floor. The single and twin bedrooms open out to the loggia and the large spacious terrazzo where you have tables and chairs for dining with garden and sea views. The third bedroom is at the opposite side of the house and has a large window that faces the island of Capri. These bedrooms share two bathrooms, with tubs and hand held showers and are located at the end of the hallways, a distance from the bedrooms.

ROOFTOP TERRACE
The gem of this house is the rooftop terraces. There are three different areas of the terrace for sunning, relaxing and dining. Scattered through these outdoor living areas are tables and chairs for incredible views of the Bay of Naples and high up to have a bird's eye view of majestic Roman Pine Trees.

THE GARDENS AND POOLS
Given its position on the side of the hill, the gardens are terraces with grassy lawns, stone walls and pathways, and an irregular size swimming pool. Well lit in the evenings with many low volt lights that line the pathways to all three terraces, it sets of a charming tone of peace and tranquility. There are so many lovely places to stop and rest in this terraced garden. Here are little alcoves with a bench for one or two and paths among a thousand year old olive grove.
