Villa Onarato is beautiful and luxurious villa that sits right on the water, overlooking lake Como with a backdrop of the Alps that protect lake Como from the wind, providing a comforable climate year round. The villa has stately neoclassical collumned entrancewhich leads to the grand garden terrace and the illuminated large Grecian style swimming pool. At the edge of the garden, a gate opens to the path to the town of Laglio, a sleepy village of 1,000 including the Clooney's, on the western shore of lake Como. The atmopshere is still magical with pastel painted buildings.
There is so much to do here for everyone in your group. Several paths to discover the scenic surroundings, Hiking, swimming, cycling, caneoing and water skiing and canyoning. Tennis and golf are located in the area. Several restaurants offer the delacies of local cuisine in lovely medieval villages, as well as many lake front restaurants. The cuisine is focased on fish, of course, as well as polentaand risotto. Try he Casorettqa cheese indicative to this area. Stroll and relax on the large 1.25 acre garden that dates back to the 18th century where you are surrounded by the scents of blooming flowers, wooded areas and maincured lawns. Here you will feel one with nature and a serene peace and tranquility comes over all of her guests. A truly magical property sitting on the waterfront of one of the world's most beauitful lakes. The hills behind the town climb upward offering hikint grails with panoraci vies.
A large living room with the original 19th century marble fireplace is furnished with large comfortable sofas and multiple seating areas take in teh scenic vies of the garden. An elegant study which we hope you don't need for work, but find a comfortable place to keep your laptop and plan day adventures from. The billard room is a great place to unwind with family or friends, alternating with a pool cue and a good glass of wine.
The dining room can accompany all guests comfortably, and we recommend the villa chef for nights in after a long day playing and touring. But for those that love to cook, a fully equipped kitchen with working fireplace is a joy to create a masterpiece from your shopping at the local markets, or have a cooking class with the family. A laundry room and guest bathroom completes this floor.
Upstairs are five large double bedrooms with stunninf vies of the gardens and lake Como. Two living spaces lead to a large and fully equipped terrace with connection to the garden below. Three bright and charming marble bathrooms
From the edge of the garden is a gate with direct acces to the village.
For an addtional price, you can rent the next door boathouse, fully equipped modern kitchen, green marble bathroom, two sofa beds, tv, wifi, privated doc and a large sunroom overlooking the lake. A pretty private bridge connects you to your private dock on the lake for those that want to keep a boat during your stay. on request and inquire about addtional cost.
