In the heart of Chianti you are just 5 mintues from Castellina in Chianti, 17 mintues from Panzano and under 30 minutes from Greve in Chianti. Siena is reached in 25 minutes and Florence in under an hour. You can make the beaches under 2 hours and the wide open spaces of the val d'orcia where Pienza and pecorino cheese are world known, in under an hour and a half, making this an excellent base to explore so much of Tuscany.

The villa and land has been in the family since the early 20th century. Villa delle Vigne has been decorated in an elegant and timeless style, with the family's own antique furnishings, oil paintings, luxury fabrics. The newtral colors of whites, beige, light blues accented with red is a soothing retreat after a day of sightseeing or just a day at home enjoying life on a Chianti wine estate. Spend time sitting by the pool with a good book and a glass of Chianti, learn how to cook authentic Tuscan specialties, take a morning or evening walk among the estates vineyards, have a private wine tasting or candlelight dinner in the cellars below the villa. The villa is ideal for a large group of friends or multigenerational families looking to discover all that Tuscany has to offer while staying in a unique and luxurious historic setting. Villa delle Vigna offers you the flexibility of a private home combined with the luxury of a boutique hotel. You will be looked after by the owner's own staff, or welcome to bring your own. Pets are welcome on request, and there is a dog house in the garden if your pet chooses to use it.

The large living room accommodates 18 comfortably and holds a projector and large ( 157 inch s 200 inches) pull down projection screen for movie nights. The TV has Satellite channels as well as Netflix. Wifi throughout the villa. It's lovely to spend the autumn and winter months with the 4 working fireplaces and central heating, and guests are invited to the grape harvest if you happen to be here when it's time. Depending on the weather, it is September or October. Even though this is a luxurious villa rental, it is family friendly, with lots of activities for children: Ping pong Table, pool toys, bikes, Go Karts, and Pedal cars. For the adults there is Cross Trainer, Static bike and weights to burn off all that good food and wine you will be consuming.

Ville delle Vigna is on three floors. Park your car across the street, just a 10 meter walk from the villa entrance. Enter through your private doors, on to a small terrace. Once through the threshold, there is a large foyer with a guest bathroom, and a staircase leading up to the first floor. Here are the living quarters, two living rooms, dining room, and beautifully and fully furnished kitchen that even has a gelato maker, what fun for the kids to help make. If that's not of interest, you have one of the best gelato shops in Castellina in Chianti for an after dinner or mid day treat. There are also three King bedrooms on this floor, and the upper two floors house the rest of the 9 bedrooms.

On the ground floor is one of the two cellars, this one is for aging the wines and has a cantina where you can arrange a private candlelight dinner with a private chef, all centered around the wines they produce. Child friendly menus are available for your children should they wish to join you, sans wine of course, or you can hire a babysitter to stay upstairs with them.

The owners live on part of the ground floor, but their entrance is on another side of the house, keeping your privacy during your stay. Also, an entrance at the back of the villa houses the entrance to the wine office, again situated so that you do not see them coming and going. However, this is a working winery, so you will hear the occasional tractor, hear or see people in the winery buildings across the street but you are completely private being on the first floor above all of this. You will dine and swim and relax in the gardens with complete privacy.

Castellina in Chianti is a beautiful village of 2,800 and a stop for many tourists on their trip along the Chianti wine road. It is just small enough to get that Italian village feel, and large enough to have a nice assortment of restaurants and shops. One of the best gelato shops L' Antica Delizia has been said many times to be one of the best gelato shops in Tuscany.

Castellina in Chianti is part of the Chianti Hills, between the valleys of the Arbia, Pesa, and Elsa rivers. Easy half day trips, so you can be back in the villa in the afternoon to swim and relax include the towns of Barberino Val d'Elsa, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Greve in Chianti, Monteriggioni, Poggibonsi, Radda in Chianti, Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
