We returned from our trip last night and it was wonderful!
The villa was perfect for us and the staff was extremely helpful and nice. Laura, Daniella, Loriss (our chef) and the servers all did their best to make everything exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the dinners and the wine tasting in the hotel cellar was very special. The gathering room where we had our dinners most nights was wonderful. The pizza party was especially fun as we all made and cooked our own pizzas. When a couple of glitches came up they took care of it immediately. For example when the main refrigerator broke on the second day they had a replacement there when we returned from our day trip and when my daughter inadvertently turned off the AC in one of the apartments they had someone come over to get it running and explain what buttons not to touch (ha ha). The one thing they need to do is repair the driveway leading to the Villa. If it gets any worse you?ll need a jeep to get up the hill. That?s a small point but it is your first impression of the Villa.
The tours in Rome were also very good and Luigi was a very pleasant, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. A few of us were separated after visiting the Sistine Chapel and when we finally met up in the basilica he gave a second tour of the basilica for those of us who had gotten lost.
And Taormina was spectacular too! Overall, it was a very special trip. Thank you again for all of your work putting this together for us.

We absolutely love it, Patrice!! We've enjoyed a few days of peace and quiet. Now the rest of the group starts arriving.
The villa and the area is just breathtaking!!
Thanks for everything. I'll send some pictures when we get back (if we even come back ??).

Our extended family really enjoyed Villa Piaggio, especially the pool following the hot days of touring nearby towns. The pool was much larger than we expected which was such a delight and muched used! The views from the villa and pool were breathtaking, the nearby town was so picturesque and Castelfiorentino was perfect for shopping for groceries and catching a train to Florence.
The villa was very clean and provided ample space for 19 of us to spread out.
On the downside, we had a wasp nest next to the upstairs door and one suite of rooms and bats were hanging out at one of the upstairs exterior doors because we found their droppings accumulating on both sides of the threshold. We also would have liked directions to use the TV. But all in all we had a great stay and still give this property a 5 star rating. The chef that Patrice hired was wonderful. We could not have asked for better meals, and having him cook for us everynight allowed us to go our separate ways during the day and gather at the end of the day to spend the evening reliving our days adventures, all sitting together around the dining room table - be it inside or outside. We loved every meal, his provision of varied and mixed menus left everyone in our family from small children to grandparents very happy. It was much appreciated that we could all sit down together as a family for dinner. We created so many happy memories, thank you so much.
Note from Papavero Villa Rentals: We are so sorry for the wasp and bat problems you encountered while staying at Villa Piaggio. And I understand your confusion with the TV, as they are even hard for us in our homes here in the states. I wish you would have informed your staff who could have remedied the situation immediately. When I spoke to the manager of the property, she had no idea that you had those problems and would have fixed it immediately. When we last inspected the villa we didn't see any problems, but when out in the countryside and given the time of year, things can change unexpectately. Please accept our appologies for this inconvenience
