Villa Chianti gets it's name from the famous nearby wine road, Strada Chiantigiana, otherwise known as the Chianti highway, a two lane road that meanders through some of the most picturesque vistas you'll ever see and passing through numerous quaint villages as it winds down to the town of Siena. While the villa is in a countryside setting, you are only 15 minutes to the heart of Florence. It is a prime real estate location, not only for nearness of the charming Chianti road but also for the easy access to highway A1 which will take you north to Milan and south to Rome. Villa Chianti is also close to the Florence–Siena highway, a four-lane highway that will effortlessly take you to all the wonderful towns in the western part of Tuscany, such as San Gimignano and Montereggioni.
The villa has a long history, dating back more than 1000 years. This is documented in a land sales agreement of vineyards and olive groves dated 1024 and through the Renaissance period in which this villa was built from an existing watchtower originally constructed in the year 300. The estate now consists of 42 hectares of which 12 hectares are planted in vineyards, the rest of the land in forests, olive groves and the gardens surrounding the property. The farm produces world renowned wine, olive oil and grappa all of which can be purchased at the villa.
The villa sits behind a wall and gate along side a paved road, the gardens and lawn are surrounded by hedges and cypress trees to guarantee your privacy. Dotted around the villa and terraces are large terracotta planters bursting with color during the spring, summer and early fall.
The front of the villa has a formal approach with a sprawling lawn and beautiful paved courtyard with large lawns beyond the two loggias. Relax under an old fig tree and watch the children play, or take a nap in one of the outdoor chaises. There is a covered terrace with an oval teak dining table that will accommodate ten guests. From here, a small stairway leads to a small kitchen area, making it unnecessary to run back into the house for your cool beverages and snacks. A path takes you from the villa to the pool area. Surrounded by another large lawn and set among the olive grove and hedges, it is a secluded area for privacy and relaxation. Chaise lounges and tables are set around the pool and under the olive trees.

ACCOMMODATIONS

GROUND FLOOR
Enter the villa through the courtyard into the large entrance hall with terracotta floors and precious Oriental rugs. A staircase leads up to the first floor. A small gym with dry sauna and windows that look out to the garden and a laundry room reserved for the staff complete this floor. A back staircase leads to the staff's apartment.

FIRST FLOOR
At the top of the staircase you come to the impressive formal entrance hall with French doors leading out to the front steps and the expansive lawn. From this large entrance hall, there are doors on each of the four corners, one leading to the living room, a perfect gathering place with comfortable upholstered sofas and chairs and TV and large windows picture-framing beautiful views. The study is also reached from the formal entrance hall and consists of a wall of bookcases and cabinets, an antique desk with DSL line and fax and a gathering place of sofas and chairs. On one side of the entrance hall is a beautiful formal dining room with antique tables and chairs and a spacious fully equipped kitchen with a marble table that seats six. Next to the kitchen is a guest bathroom with frescoed ivy walls, this bathroom has a shower and tub.
On the other side of the entrance hall and living areas are two bedrooms. One is a double bedroom with a king sized bed and en suite bath with shower. This bedroom overlooks the lawns and breathtaking cypress trees. The second bedroom is also a king bedroom with a walk through closet that leads to the bathroom with tub and shower.

SECOND FLOOR
A staircase takes you up to the next floor into a music room with a baby grand piano and the same high beamed ceiling and white washed walls found throughout the villa. In each corner of this floor is a beautiful bedroom with luxurious linens and draperies. The first of these bedrooms is a king bedroom suite with the king-sized bed set into an alcove and a sofa/day bed that can sleep a child if necessary, with a walk through dressing room with table and en suite bath with tub. A light filled twin/double bedroom has a dressing room with closets that leads to the en suite bath with shower. The other side of the villa has a long corridor, at one end is a bathroom with shower, followed by a double bedroom and a walk in closet. Further on is a twin bedroom with closet. These two bedrooms share the hall bathroom with shower.

THIRD FLOOR
From the music room, there is another set of stairs leading to the ancient tower where you find a living room with a beautiful arched window and an upholstered sofa and chairs centered around an open hearth with a small TV. Another staircase leads up to the twin/double loft bedroom that looks down over the living room suite and en suite bath with tub.
